Act 1989 and Children Act 2004, Care Standards 2000, Children’s Homes

Waverley House is a registered children’s home accommodating five children
or young people of either gender from ages 7 to 18 years who are diagnosed
as having mild, moderate, and severe learning difficulties with other
associated complex needs.
These may include some mobility issues arising
from sensory deprivation, communication needs, autistic spectrum disorder,
cerebral palsy and associated heath needs i.e., epilepsy and those who may
have additional support from the local Child and Adolescent Mental Health
Services (CAMHS).
In recognition of the pressures of transition, the organisation may
continue to accommodate young people after their 18th birthday until their
21st birthday, where multi-disciplinary judgment supports such a decision
and where it is in the best interest of the individual.
