Schankin House’, which provides accommodation and a continuity of personal
care and support for young adults up until their 40th birthday. ‘Schankin
House’ is a celebration of our first resident who attained their 18th
birthday and transitioned to the new home to commence his journey into
supported living services.
The identified young adults will be those of either gender and all
ethnicities who are diagnosed as having mild to moderate learning
difficulties or other associated complex needs i.e., social and
communication defects, autism, cerebral palsy or epilepsy.
Through pathway planning, young people who are identified as suitable to
transition to Schankin house will be provided with a smooth transition plan
and introduction to our semi-independence support services, the emphasis of
their transition will be the consistency and continuity of care.
The Vine Residential services works in partnership with local authorities.
Young adults accommodated at Schankin House are supported 1:1 through a
robust care planning process, as part of every young person’s pathway
planning arrangement. The level of care support and their independence
ability is assessed and matched with the appropriate staffing support at
Schankin House.
